Omega Busted Mugshots
Omega sits right on the line between Colquitt and Tift counties. The 2020 Census put its population at 1,318, per the Georgia incorporated-place table. That split matters more than most people expect. Which side of town an arrest happens on decides who writes the report, which jail holds the booking file, and which number you call to check custody.
The Omega Police Department patrols the city, but the name alone tells you nothing about where a booking landed. Colquitt-side arrests may go to Colquitt County Jail. Tift-side arrests may go to Tift County Jail. Whoever took the person in controls the mugshot and the paper trail, so the county question comes first.
Where Omega Busted Mugshots Appear
Omega publishes no arrest log or booking feed of its own. No daily bulletin either. The official Omega municipal contact page names the city and the clerk's route, but it is not a custody lookup. That means you work the arresting agency and the receiving jail separately. Official and secondary channels for both are laid out below.
| Channel | Photo or record | What it can answer |
|---|---|---|
| Omega Police Department | City arrest or incident report | Whether Omega PD handled the event and what existing report it holds. No public log or feed was verified. |
| Receiving county jail | Current custody, booking sheet, possible intake photo | Depends on the incident county. Colquitt County Jail can be reached at 229-616-7430; a Tift-side booking requires the corresponding Tift channel. |
| Written records request | Existing police or jail record, subject to exemptions | Use Omega's clerk route for the police report, then ask the receiving jail separately for booking material. |
| GBI case releases | Case-specific public information | The official GBI Omega release shows why a Tift County booking may be the correct path. |
| Moultrie Observer and WALB | Secondary story coverage | Both may cover Omega when an event is newsworthy, but neither has a dedicated Omega booking section or complete feed. |
| Commercial archive pages | Unofficial and possibly old material | Mugshots.com has a historical Colquitt archive; Busted Newspaper and Recently Booked had no verified Colquitt section, and Arrests.org and Mugshots.zone were not verified. None proves current custody. |
One more trap deserves a mention. Searching "Colquitt, Georgia" can pull up the City of Colquitt, which sits in Miller County with its own police force. That is a different town entirely. Confirm the county in any source before trusting a name match or a booking image.
Busted in Omega: Resolve the County First
An Omega busted record search works differently than a single-county lookup. A name plus "Omega" is not enough. Pin down the street address, the arresting agency, and the county where it happened. Skip that step and you could get a false "no record" answer for someone sitting in the next county's jail.
- Write down the incident street or address, arrest date, agency name, and any case or booking number. Ask whether the event occurred on the Colquitt or Tift side of Omega.
- Contact Omega Police Department at 229-528-4911 when it appears to have made the city arrest. Ask which agency and county received the person.
- Call the receiving jail for present custody. Use Colquitt County Jail at 229-616-7430 for a Colquitt-side event, but do not assume that number covers every Omega arrest.
- Request the police report from Omega's clerk route and the booking sheet from the jail that received the person. Ask for the photo separately and only if it is legally releasable.
- Search the court record after identifying the filing county. The countywide Colquitt booking and arrest path explains the local fallback, while a Tift-side event needs the matching Tift record system.
Two questions, two answers. Who is in jail right now is one thing. Who was booked last month is another. A person can be missing from a current list because of release, transfer, a name mismatch, or an outside warrant. When the arrest location stays unclear, run both counties. Keep the results labeled so the current answer never gets confused with the booking history.
Omega Police Records and Requests
Omega has no records request form, fee schedule, or online portal. So your request has to do the work. Start with the City or Court Clerk. Ask who the police records custodian is. Request the arrest or incident report itself, not a fresh summary. Then contact the receiving jail for its booking record, since that file is kept separately.

A strong request names the person in full, gives the incident date range, and lists the street address and suspected agency. Say which existing report you want. Ask plainly whether the event was handled on the Colquitt or Tift side. If the clerk cannot hand over the record, ask who the proper custodian is. A routing delay is not a denial.
- Send the narrow request to the clerk and name the report as an arrest or incident record.
- Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before any charge. No Omega-specific fee or turnaround promise was found.
- Contact the receiving jail separately for the booking sheet, release status, and a photo request subject to Georgia law.
- Compare the police report, booking record, and court case by date and agency. They may not use the same case number.
The Two-County Booking Trail
The Georgia Department of Corrections location record places Colquitt County Jail at 200 S. Vandenberg Drive, Moultrie, GA 31768, phone 229-616-7430. Sheriff Rod Howell's Colquitt County Sheriff's Office lists its administrative office at 200 Veterans Parkway N., Moultrie, GA 31788, with mail to P.O. Box 188, Moultrie, GA 31776. Published numbers cover main and jail at 229-616-7430, business office at 229-616-7020, non-emergency dispatch at 229-616-7470, investigations at 229-616-7460, and fax at 229-616-7015. Handy contacts. Still, they do not mean every Omega arrest lands there.
Colquitt County has no public roster, booking-photo page, or weekly blotter online. No 24- or 48-hour feed and no booking archive either. Omega runs no city feed. If the arrest turns out to be Tift-side, use the Tift system instead. A countywide page can never turn this split into one tidy Omega result.
| Question | Custodian to ask |
|---|---|
| Who made the city arrest? | Omega Police Department or the agency named in the incident record |
| Where is the person held now? | The receiving county jail, selected after the incident county is confirmed |
| What was entered at booking? | The jail that accepted the person, through a focused records request |
| What happened in court? | The court and clerk for the filing county |
Watch for vendor confusion here. A communications, visitation, or deposit account for a known detainee is not a public roster. A failed account search proves nothing about release. Go through the agency and jail channels in order.
Omega Busted Records Cross County Lines
The defining Omega angle is documented by an official GBI release dated November 24, 2025. The release describes an Omega address in a Tift County death investigation and says the accused was booked into Tift County Jail. It is a concrete example of why “Omega” does not equal “Colquitt County Jail.”
The image below is a neutral capture of that official GBI release, not a booking-photo gallery. It points to the case source so the county and custody language can be checked directly.
Read the official GBI Omega and Tift County release before using the example.

The GBI example proves the routing issue, not guilt and not a universal rule. For another Omega arrest, identify the exact street, agency, and county again. GBI Sylvester can be reached at 229-777-2080 for appropriate agency questions, but that number is not a roster or warrant line.
Omega Busted News Is Event-Driven
News about Omega arrests arrives in bursts, not on a schedule. The Moultrie Observer covers Colquitt County and prints Omega events when editors judge them newsworthy. WALB adds regional South Georgia reach. Neither outlet runs a verified Omega mugshot section, a daily booking page, or a complete arrest log, so treat any story as a lead pointing toward the real records at the jail, the police department, and the courthouse.
The county crime-news treatment shows how to move from a headline to an official file. Omega adds one extra step: confirm the county first. A report on a Tift-side case must never be read as a Colquitt booking, and a Colquitt story belongs to Colquitt County, not the separate City of Colquitt over in Miller County.
Third-party sites deserve caution. Mugshots.com keeps an unofficial county archive skewed toward older years rather than current Omega custody. Busted Newspaper and Recently Booked showed no verified Colquitt section, while Arrests.org and Mugshots.zone could not be confirmed at all. Such pages may be stale or mislabeled. None of them counts as an official source.
Booked, Released, or Sentenced Elsewhere?
Omega records split at several points. Someone just booked appears in the receiving jail's current-custody channel. After release, that person may vanish from a live answer. Yet the underlying police and jail records often remain available on request. A sentence to state custody transfers the person into the Georgia Department of Corrections system, a wholly separate lookup. Federal or immigration detention runs through its own locators. It says nothing about a local Omega booking. Each status points to a different place, so match the status before you search.
| Custody stage | Where to look | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current local custody | Receiving county jail after location is verified | A negative answer may reflect release, transfer, or the wrong county |
| Released booking | Omega PD report plus the receiving jail's written record request | No public city or Colquitt archive was found |
| State sentence | GDC Offender Query | State prison search is not a recent Omega arrest feed |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP locator or ICE locator when applicable | Coverage and identity rules differ from county records |
Four terms get tangled constantly. Booking is jail intake. Bond is a release condition. Arraignment is an early court date, and disposition is the final outcome. News stories and old archives often stop at the arrest and skip everything after, which is exactly when the distinctions matter most.
Omega Booking Photos and Georgia Law
Georgia law shapes what you can actually get. The Open Records Act does not hand the public one website with every arrest in it. On top of that, O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19 adds special limits on how agencies post and release booking photographs. A written request should name the booking record you know exists and ask for the photo separately. That gives the agency room to review the ask under the statute. Keep in mind that an Omega police report and the receiving jail's intake image are not the same file.
The Georgia Attorney General's open-records instructions show why precise written requests pay off. If something gets withheld or redacted, request the specific legal basis. Keep the response. Juvenile, sealed, restricted, and protected records follow different rules entirely. Record restriction or a court seal is a separate matter from any live custody check.
After an Omega Booking
Once the county is settled, go to the court record for the case and its final disposition. A phone call to the jail can confirm present custody. It cannot tell you whether charges were dropped or changed later. A news story offers a lead, never a substitute for the docket. Colquitt filings mean the state court access route and the Colquitt clerk. Tift filings mean the matching Tift court channel.
- Arrest report
- The arresting agency's account of the event. It may be held by Omega PD or another agency.
- Booking record
- The receiving jail's intake record, which may include booked charges, bond entries, and release details.
- Disposition
- The court's later result. It may differ from the charge entered at booking.
- Record restriction
- A legal process that can limit access to qualifying records. It is not the same as deleting every copy or proving a current custody status.
Older events need detail. Give the records custodian a full name and the approximate booking or release date. Add the arresting agency, the incident county, and any booking or case number on hand. In Omega this matters more than anywhere. A search limited to one county can sail past the correct record entirely.
