Colquitt County Busted Mugshots
A mugshot is simply the identification photo snapped when someone is processed into jail. Alongside it, the booking record captures the details the agency logged at intake: name, booking number, dates, the charges entered, bond entries, and release status. Sheriff Rod Howell's office runs the Colquitt County jail in Moultrie. Arrests there can come from several agencies, though. The Sheriff's Office, Moultrie Police, Norman Park Police, or Omega Police may all make the arrest, which means the arrest report and the booking sheet can sit with different custodians.
People search "busted" hoping for a quick answer. The word is a search term, though, not a legal outcome. After booking, a person may stay in county custody, post bond, or get transferred before a records request comes back. Label each source by its stage. Is it current custody, a retained local booking, a court case, a state sentence, federal custody, or immigration detention? That habit keeps confusion down.
A booking photo answers one question only: who was processed. For anything beyond that, the court docket tells the real story.
What Colquitt Booking Records Show
Colquitt County has no public booking display with tidy labeled fields. A written request is the practical route. Name the person, give a rough booking date, and say which agency made the arrest. That helps the custodian pull the right sheet. Ask only for records that already exist. No county office must build a new report for you. Treat the fields below as likely targets. No local booking sheet is guaranteed to carry every one of them.
| Field | What it can show |
|---|---|
| Full name and identifiers | The name used for the intake and lawful identifiers already public in the record. |
| Booking number | The local reference that helps the custodian find one event among similar names. |
| Arrest and booking date/time | When the arresting agency took action and when the jail processed the person. |
| Release or transfer entry | A recorded release, bond, transfer, or other change in jail custody, if maintained. |
| Charges as booked | The charges entered at intake, which may differ from the later court charge. |
| Bond entries | The bond type or amount recorded by the jail, if that field exists on the sheet. |
| Booking photograph | An intake image requested separately and released only if legally releasable. |
Some material stays off limits. Expect redactions or full withholding for medical data, Social Security numbers, protected addresses, month and day of birth, confidential sources, investigative files, juvenile matters, and sealed cases. Juvenile records live in a separate system entirely. One more caution: the jail sheet is not a case history. To learn how a matter resolved, take the booking name, date, and case number into the Colquitt State and Superior Court searches instead.
How to Obtain Colquitt Busted Records
The sheriff's page offers a contact route but no dedicated booking-photo form, fee table, or public roster. So put your ask in writing. Send a narrow request to the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office and direct it to the open-records officer. Note the wrinkle: the published administrative address differs from the GDC-listed jail location. Keep the two straight rather than merging them.

Two tips make a request smoother. First, ask for electronic delivery and set a cost ceiling in writing. Second, split the booking report from the photograph. That lets the custodian review the image under O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19 on its own terms, since the two records are not treated as identical under the statute.
- Name the person, approximate arrest or booking date, and arresting agency.
- Ask for the existing booking report, booking number, date and time fields, booked charges, bond entries, and release or transfer entries, if present.
- Ask separately for the arrest booking photograph if legally releasable under O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19.
- Request an estimate before work above a chosen ceiling and ask for electronic delivery when available.
- If a record is withheld, check that the response identifies the specific Code section, subsection, and paragraph relied upon.
Georgia's Open Records Act uses a three-business-day response framework. If responsive records cannot be produced in that time, the agency should describe them, give a production timetable, and produce them as soon as practicable. The current statutory ordinary-copy cap is $0.10 per page, with the first fifteen minutes of qualified staff time free. Search, retrieval, redaction, media, and postage can affect the estimate.
The official sheriff page is the best source for the current contact route. This capture links to that agency page rather than presenting a screenshot as a roster or photo result.
The page shows the sheriff's official access point and its jail-service links. Those vendor links help a person who already knows a detainee communicate or send funds, but they do not replace a custody check or a written booking-record request.
Colquitt Busted Mugshot Law
Georgia's Open Records Act sits at O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-78. It opens photos and electronic files made in public business, unless an exemption applies. Some things stay closed. O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72 shields certain personal, medical, investigative, and restricted details. The pending-investigation exemption does not wipe out every arrest or incident report, yet it does not free every booking photo either. The booking-photo rule at the center of it all is O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19. It limits when an arresting agency can post an image online or release it outside listed law-enforcement, administrative, registry, inter-agency, or legally required uses. Any requester must submit a compliant-use affirmation first. The statute also reaches images a publisher might keep online, unless removal demands payment or other consideration. A plain incident report and an intake photo can travel very different release paths.
Georgia calls its state process record restriction, not destruction. Eligibility under O.C.G.A. § 35-3-37 turns on the disposition, the dates, prior history, and statutory exclusions. For the current forms and instructions, the Georgia Courts restriction and expungement resources are the place to look. Three related but separate actions exist. One is a restriction request to a jail. Another restricts the GCIC copy. The third is a petition to restrict court files.
For qualifying outcomes, O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393.5 offers a no-charge route against a commercial publisher once a compliant request is delivered. The Georgia Consumer Protection Division lays out the qualifying outcomes and delivery rules on its mugshot websites page. The verified Mugshots.com Record Maintenance page also describes a free publisher process. That policy is unofficial and never replaces Georgia's statutory route. No law grants a universal right to erase an accurate old page. Keep the disposition, the restriction order, delivery proof, and any publisher response. Skip any business promising a shortcut for a fee.
- Correct incomplete or inaccurate official criminal-history information with the custodian under the applicable Georgia process.
- Use the current Georgia Courts materials to assess record-restriction eligibility.
- Send the jail or detention center the separate written restriction request contemplated by O.C.G.A. § 35-3-37(k) when the facts qualify.
- Ask the original court about restricting physical and electronic court files when a court petition is required.
- Use a publisher's free statutory or documented maintenance process only with the official proof that matches its qualifying rule.
Agency records, court files, private republications, and search-engine results can follow different correction paths. One approval does not automatically change every copy.
The state's open-government explanation is useful for the request framework and its limits. It does not turn a screenshot into proof that a particular Colquitt photo exists online.
The official law and court routes keep the removal question tied to a disposition and a custodian. They do not promise that a favorable outcome will erase every unofficial copy.
- Booking
- The intake process that records a person after arrest and may create an identification photo.
- Bond
- A release condition or financial undertaking set by the authorized court or jail process.
- Disposition
- The court's result, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction.
- Record restriction
- A legal limit on access to qualifying criminal-history material. It is not the same as destroying every copy.
How to Find Colquitt County Busted Mugshots
Where you start depends on the custody stage. Colquitt County has no verified public roster, no same-day booking feed, and no stable online booking-photo result. The official path begins with a call to the jail for present custody. For anything historical, it shifts to the records custodian. A Moultrie arrest report, an Omega booking, a GDC profile, and a court disposition can each demand a different search.
- For a person who may be held now, call Colquitt County Jail at 229-616-7430. Ask about current custody, recognizing that a phone answer is not a copy of the booking record.
- For a local booking record or releasable photo, send CCSO a narrow written request to the sheriff's published address.
- For a Moultrie, Omega, or Norman Park arrest report, contact the police agency that made the arrest. Its report is separate from the county jail sheet.
- For a released person, request the retained booking record and search the court docket. A no-current-custody answer does not erase a past booking.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the GDC Offender Query, not a local recent-arrest search.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator and do not treat a local search miss as proof that no arrest occurred.
- Use news or an unofficial archive only as a lead, then check the official record and final disposition.
Match the identity carefully. Names run common and surnames change. A search snippet can weld the wrong person to an arrest. Use a government booking or case number whenever one exists. Keep protected identifiers out of public view, and hold any disagreement until the custodian or clerk resolves it.
Does a missed roster search prove there was no arrest? No. Colquitt has no verified public roster or booking archive. A miss could mean release, transfer, another county, a name mismatch, or a record held by a different agency.
Where Colquitt County Busted Mugshots Appear
Start with official custody and court channels. No county roster or feed exists here. So "online" never equals "official." An unofficial hit does not prove current custody. The table pairs each custody stage and photo status with its access route.
| Channel | Photo or record | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| CCSO and Colquitt County Jail | Current custody by phone; no public photo result verified | Call 229-616-7430, then request an existing record in writing. |
| Municipal police agency | Arrest or incident report, not necessarily the jail intake photo | Contact Moultrie PD, Omega PD, or Norman Park PD for the event it handled. |
| CCSO written request | Booking sheet and photo only if legally releasable | Use the sheriff's address, narrow identifiers, and § 35-1-19 wording. |
| Georgia Courts | Docket and disposition, not a mugshot feed | Search Colquitt State and Superior Court through the E-Access route. |
| GDC Offender Query | State-custody profile photo if available | Search sentenced GDC custody by name, ID, or case number. |
| Moultrie Observer or WALB | Story-selected images and crime coverage; not a custody database | Use local or regional news as secondary context. |
| Mugshots.com archive | Unofficial historical material, with visible 2011-2016 year filters | Use only as a lead and verify every item with official records. |
| Other required aggregators | No verified Colquitt section or access was established for Busted Newspaper, Recently Booked, Arrests.org, or Mugshots.zone | Do not label an absent or blocked route as an official source. |
The only verified county-local commercial archive is Mugshots.com's Colquitt County page. It looks historical rather than live. Its presence cannot show someone sits in jail now. Its absence cannot show no arrest ever happened.
Colquitt Busted Roster: No Public Feed
The sheriff's official site offers no inmate search, current roster, booking-photo result, recent bookings, arrest log, or 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, weekly, and archived lists. None of those tools exist publicly. The public links instead lead to commissary, messaging, visitation, and phone-account vendors, which help once you know the detainee but cannot perform custody discovery. There is no honest public search-field table to copy from a local portal. That absence is itself the finding:
| Roster feature | Verified Colquitt finding | Fallback |
|---|---|---|
| Search fields | No public fields available to document | Give the jail a full name and lawful identifying detail by phone. |
| Displayed fields | No online result schema verified | Request the existing booking sheet. |
| Photo policy | No online result; Georgia law controls photo release | Request the photo separately under § 35-1-19. |
| Cadence and persistence | Not published and not applicable to an absent listing | Ask whether the request covers current custody or retained records. |
Use the fallback in this order when the question is current custody:
- Call the jail at 229-616-7430 for the present custody question.
- Use 229-616-7470 for countywide non-emergency dispatch only when the call belongs there, not as a substitute for a record request.
- Send the written booking request to CCSO when a documentary answer or releasable image is needed.
Do not mistake a communications vendor for a roster. A failed vendor lookup proves nothing about release, and an unofficial page dressed up with "official roster" language still does not fill the gap.
Why a Colquitt Booking Photo Is Separate
Georgia treats booking photos differently from most records, and Colquitt reflects that. Just because no search screen exists online does not mean no photo was taken. It means there is no published public path to it. A records request should list the booking sheet and the photo as two distinct items, and let the custodian decide how O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19 and any redaction rules apply.
The requester also has to submit a compliant use statement. Under the statute, an agency can hold back an image if publication would be followed by a paid removal demand. Lying on that statement carries its own legal exposure. If a photo comes back withheld, the right move is asking for the statutory basis rather than trusting an unofficial copy found elsewhere.
Do not confuse online visibility with government retention. Georgia Archives schedule LG-19-060 keeps jail booking records for ten years after release, yet it never names a separate mugshot series. Ask CCSO directly how an intake image is classified. A retention schedule promises preservation, not a webpage.
Recent Colquitt Busted Bookings Have No Feed
Anyone hoping for a live booking feed from Colquitt will not find one. The sheriff and city police sites publish no same-day view and no 24 or 48-hour list. There is no 72-hour bulletin. No weekly roster, daily update, photo policy, or archive exists to check. A promise of a weekend surge view from some commercial page would simply be false.
The old Moultrie Observer crime reports were newspaper work built on agency material, never a sheriff feed. A story can surface after an agency release. It then goes stale fast once bond, release, transfer, or court action intervenes. For anything older, a written CCSO request plus a court search beats a search hit with no case number attached.
Feed-window note: no official same-day or multi-day booking window is published, current custody belongs to the jail phone, and retained booking records belong to a records request.
Georgia DOC Offender Photos
The Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender guidance covers a later custody stage. GDC Offender Query searches people in state correctional custody by name, physical description, GDC ID, or case number. It is not a Colquitt County recent-arrest database, and a person awaiting proceedings in the county jail may never appear there.
Search an exact name first. If the result is missing, GDC advises trying only the first four letters of the last name and selecting all offenders rather than active offenders only. A photo displays automatically if available, but GDC says some images are unavailable or not yet uploaded. GDC also does not publish records for people who completed a sentence under Georgia's First Offender Act.
For a state-corrections record or image not exposed by the form, use the GDC open-records request route or contact Inmate Records and Information at P.O. Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029, 404-656-4661. A GDC profile photo is a state identification image, not proof of the allegation that led to the original Colquitt booking.
The official form is a search interface, not a current county roster.
The image points to the GDC query form. Its custody scope explains why a local jail search and a state-prison search should never be merged.
Federal and ICE Custody Are Separate
The Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward. Search by a BOP or federal number, or use name with race, age, and sex. BOP results can show a register number, location, and release date, but the public locator has no photograph field. BOP says its data updates daily and dates can change.
The ICE Online Detainee Locator covers qualifying people currently in immigration custody or recently released. It uses a nine-digit A-number plus country of birth, or exact name with country of birth and an optional birth date. It cannot search people under 18 and does not publish a mugshot gallery. ICE's information line is 1-888-351-4024 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, excluding holidays.
Colquitt's quarterly Criminal Alien Tracking reports are aggregate reports, not person-level booking logs. The county reported 710 total jail bookings and 33 ICE detainers for April through June 2025. Those figures do not identify a person or establish a case outcome. U.S. Marshals custody and federal case status also require federal channels, not a county roster.
The federal locator capture is a neutral form view. It does not show a face and is not a substitute for a local booking record.
Federal and immigration systems answer different custody questions. A local search miss cannot establish that a person is not held in another system.
Booked or Released: Busted Records
Custody ends; paperwork does not. A name can surface long after release. It shows up in a records request, a court docket, a news story, a state profile, or an unofficial archive. Each source answers a different question. None of them tells you who is behind bars tonight.
| Custody stage | Best channel | What the result means |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or held locally | Colquitt County Jail phone | A time-sensitive current-custody answer. It is not a photo or final case result. |
| Released from county custody | CCSO written request and court search | The booking can remain a retained record after the person leaves custody. |
| State sentence | GDC Offender Query | A GDC custody profile, if present, not the original county booking event. |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Federal location and release information, with no public locator photo. |
| Immigration custody | ICE locator | Qualifying current or recent detention, subject to locator limits. |
| Court outcome | Colquitt State or Superior Court | The docket and signed disposition, not a mugshot feed. |
After a Colquitt Booking
A few terms matter after a Colquitt County booking. The arraignment is when the court takes up the charge with the person present. Bond is a release condition set by a judge. Disposition is the end result of the case. It might be a dismissal, a nolle prosequi, a transfer, a plea, an acquittal, or a conviction. Colquitt publishes no fixed first-appearance schedule. The docket and the court calendar control the timing.
Court records hold those outcomes, not the jail roster. Start with the name, the booking date, the charge listed at booking, and the case number. Then search the Georgia Courts E-Access directory for both Colquitt State Court and Colquitt Superior Court. If the portal does not surface the order, call the Colquitt County Clerk of Superior Court at 229-616-7420 with the case number in hand. The clerk sits at 9 South Main Street, Courthouse, Moultrie, GA 31768. Read the docket entries in order. The charge at booking can be amended or superseded later, and a stale unofficial page will never catch up.
A Colquitt arrest leaves a paper trail in more than one place. News stories, wanted notices, booking entries, and mugshots each capture a moment in the process, and the court record is the piece that tells the fuller story.
The official Georgia Courts E-Access route shows where the court record picks up after intake.
The court gateway is where a booking label can be checked against the filed case and final order.
Colquitt's Quarterly Booking Snapshot
CCSO's quarterly Criminal Alien Tracking report is one concrete local measure. But it is a statutory snapshot. It is not a live feed, and it is not an annual total. The county reported 710 total jail bookings from April through June 2025. It also reported 33 ICE detainers. Those are aggregate numbers only. They name no one and list no charges. They say nothing about immigration status beyond the report's own category, and nothing about how any case ended.
Treat the quarterly snapshot as context for the county system, nothing more. It cannot replace a booking sheet. It cannot confirm current custody or a court disposition. For later reports, use the official sheriff source.
VINELink Alerts Are Not Mugshots
Georgia gained a statewide automated victim-notification system in March 2024. The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council announced it. CJCC's announcement describes phone, online, and mobile access through VINE and VINELink. An alert only fires when the supplying jail or corrections system participates and sends the event, so coverage is not automatic.
Keep expectations straight here. VINE answers an alert question, not a photo question. It holds no mugshot archive, no full roster, and no court records. Confirm Colquitt coverage for the person first. On the local phone side, Doerun's official city material says its police dispatch runs through Colquitt County E911. CCSO posts 229-616-7470 for countywide non-emergency calls. Emergencies still go to 911.
Colquitt Has No Sheriff Booking App
No CCSO-branded mobile app appears anywhere on the official sheriff site. The department's Facebook account carries advisories, wanted notices, missing-person posts, and scam warnings, yet a social feed is never a complete roster or warrant database, and it is no durable archive. Posts get edited, deleted, or buried under newer content.
So treat any social notice as a lead. Check its date against the sheriff, jail, or court. A post can point toward a public-safety tip, but it cannot prove current custody. Never approach someone because of a social image or wanted post; take urgent information to law enforcement instead.
The missing app is simply an observation about the public county navigation, not a claim about what technology the sheriff runs internally.
Moultrie Fees Are Not CCSO Fees
Moultrie's request route is clearer than the county's. The city's April 2024 form directs requests to the City Clerk, P.O. Box 3368, Moultrie, GA 31776, or bonnie.kudela@moultriega.com. The fee set is specific. It sets $0.10 per page. Employee labor is free for the first fifteen minutes, then billed. Other media, postage, and video cost actual amounts. MPD's records number is 229-985-3131.
Those terms bind the City of Moultrie alone. Do not apply them to CCSO. The sheriff's office posts no current county booking fee schedule and no dedicated request form. For a sheriff request, ask for an estimate and follow Georgia's current statutory rules. A Moultrie police incident report and a Colquitt jail booking sheet stay separate records, even when the arrest happened inside the city.
Does the Moultrie form set the sheriff's price? No. It describes the city's process only. CCSO must supply its own cost basis under the applicable Open Records Act rules.
Colquitt Jail History and Older Records
The county's 2024 jail feasibility study says the then-current facility was built in 1989 and entered service in 1990. It described 200 existing beds, aging plumbing and mechanical problems, and a proposed same-site superpod that would bring the post-project count to 321 while retaining Pod One. The study projected completion in December 2025 and operations in January 2026. Those were planning projections. Later completion and present capacity need current official confirmation.
For old county booking material, Georgia Archives schedule LG-19-060 gives jail booking records a ten-year retention period after release. Jail registers run ten years after last entry, while other listed series have different clocks. The schedule names associated booking data but not a separate mugshot series. Start with CCSO or county records management and ask how the intake image is classified.
The Georgia Archives jail-booking schedule is the source for the retention image below.
The official schedule explains a retention duty, not online visibility. Older material may remain with the local custodian rather than transfer automatically to the Archives. For selected state records, use the Archives finding aids or Virtual Vault, and give a record group, series, date span, and identifiers when asking for help.
Busted Mugshots by City in Colquitt County
City arrests and county jail holds connect at one narrow point. Moultrie Police answers calls inside the city. Custody checks still run through the county lockup, and the police report lives apart from it. Norman Park sits fully inside Colquitt County and posts no public arrest feed. Omega straddles the Colquitt-Tift line, so the arrest address and the responding agency decide which jail gets your call. A city name alone will not get you there. Know the agency, the street or incident spot, the county of arrest, and the booking destination before you ring a jail or ask for a photo. That step keeps a City of Colquitt lookup in Miller County from being mixed up with Colquitt County.
- Moultrie Busted Mugshots: Moultrie PD records, the city request form, county jail custody, and local news coverage.
- Omega Busted Mugshots: the split-county warning, Tift or Colquitt booking route, and the city clerk path.
- Norman Park Busted Mugshots: the sparse city web footprint, police request route, and county-jail verification.
City-level searches in Colquitt County go smoother when you gather a few details first. Know which agency made the arrest. Know where the street or incident happened, which county it fell under, and where the person was booked. One mix-up happens a lot. The City of Colquitt sits in Miller County. Confusing it with Colquitt County can send your roster inquiry to the wrong office entirely.
